Shonisaurus sikanniensis / British Columbia 1/35th scale. Length 24 Inches, Height with base 14 Inches
Background: This gigantic Late Triassic Ichthyosaur was twice the mass of it's american cousin, S. popularis. It's remains were first discovered by backwoods hikers in British Columbia, Canada in the mid 1990's. S. sikannaiensis, at 75 feet, was the size of a modern baleen whale. There is fossil evidence that this fish lizard my have acheived an even greater size. S. sikanniensis was first descibed in The Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology, Volume 24, December 2004.
