Background: Gastonia was a medium sized armored dinosaur. It was found in the early 1990's in Eastern Utah, and was very similar to it's polycanthid relatives found in Great Britain in the 19th century. Many Gastonia fossil remains have been unearthed in the past ten years by various museum institutions. We have a good record of Small juveniles up to twenty foot adults. This sculpture was rendered under the supervision of Dr. James Kirkland, Utah State Paleontologist, who described and named it, and Robert Gaston, who discovered it, and it was named in honor of.
