Background: This Early Jrassic crested theropod, at 20 feet in length, was the largest carniverous dinosaur of it's time. Dilophosaurus remains have been found in Arizona and Utah. It may have hunted primitive sauropods and giant ceolocanth fish along the shores of ancient Lake Dixie, in Southwest Utah, 200 million Years ago. This sculpture was made for Saint George Dinosaur Discovery Tracksite at Johnson Farm Museum, in Utah, and is on permanent display there. This sculpture is a maquette for a full sized 18 foot long bronze monument that will be placed in front of the Saint George Dinosaur Discovery Tracksite at Johnson Farm Museum, in Utah.
